Matthew 4:13-15
King James Version
13 And leaving Nazareth,
he came and dwelt in Capernaum,
which is upon the sea coast,
in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
14 That it might be fulfilled
which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim,
by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan,
It's been quite a journey the past couple of days.
This being the third.
We've been mighty busy writing a series of articles.
On the death, burial, and Resurrection of JESUS.
This article you're reading now is the SEVENTH in that series:
JESUS appears before His disciples
After that last article, I knew this article had to be written.
For SPIRIT made me notice something.
All because I was searching for that verse on the "sons of Zebedee".
Which led me to these verses:
Matthew 4:18-22
King James Version
18 And Jesus,
walking by the sea of Galilee,
saw two brethren,
and Andrew his brother,
casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19 And he saith unto them,
Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20 And they straightway left their nets,
and followed him.
21 And going on from thence,
he saw other two brethren,
James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother,
in a ship with Zebedee their father,
mending their nets; and he called them.
22 And they immediately left the ship
and their father, and followed him.
That's when SPIRIT made me realize where it all began.
And where it all ended, at least on earth.
By the Sea of Galilee.
Where JESUS started His ministry.
Matthew 4:23-25
King James Version
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee,
teaching in their synagogues,
and preaching the gospel of the kingdom,
and healing all manner of sickness
and all manner of disease among the people.
24 And his fame went throughout all Syria:
and they brought unto him all sick people
that were taken with divers diseases and torments,
and those which were possessed with devils,
and those which were lunatick,
and those that had the palsy;
and he healed them.
25 And there followed him
great multitudes of people from Galilee,
and from Decapolis,
and from Jerusalem,
and from Judaea,
and from beyond Jordan.
And where JESUS shared His last earthly meal with His apostles.
John 21:1-4
King James Version
21 After these things Jesus shewed himself again
to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias;
and on this wise shewed he himself.
2 There were together Simon Peter,
and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee,
and the sons of Zebedee,
and two other of his disciples.
3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing.
They say unto him, We also go with thee.
They went forth,
and entered into a ship immediately;
and that night they caught nothing.
4 But when the morning was now come,
Jesus stood on the shore:
but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
We learn the Sea of Galilee is also called:
"Sea of Chinnereth"
"Lake of Gennesareth"
"Sea of Tiberias"
John 6:1-2
King James Version
6 After these things
Jesus went over the sea of Galilee,
which is the sea of Tiberias.
2 And a great multitude followed him,
because they saw his miracles
which he did on them that were diseased.
The Sea of Galilee is special.
It is witness to the LORD's ministry.
The calling of His apostles.
The miracles, and healings.
The teachings.
The last instructions to Peter.
Which He repeated THREE times:
John 21:15
King James Version
15 So when they had dined,
Jesus saith to Simon Peter,
Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?
He saith unto him, Yea, Lord;
thou knowest that I love thee.
He saith unto him,
Feed my lambs.
John 21:16
King James Version
16 He saith to him again the second time,
Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me?
He saith unto him, Yea, Lord;
thou knowest that I love thee.
He saith unto him,
Feed my sheep.
John 21:17
King James Version
17 He saith unto him the third time,
Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me?
Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time,
Lovest thou me? And he said unto him,
Lord, thou knowest all things;
thou knowest that I love thee.
Jesus saith unto him,
Feed my sheep.
We are those lambs.
We are that sheep.
JESUS was with His apostles.
Until He was taken up to heaven.
Acts 1:6-11
King James Version
6 When they therefore were come together,
they asked of him, saying,
Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again
the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them,
It is not for you to know the times or the seasons,
which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power,
after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:
and ye shall be witnesses unto me
both in Jerusalem,
and in all Judaea, and in Samaria,
and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9 And when he had spoken these things,
while they beheld, he was taken up;
and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven
as he went up,
behold,
two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said,
Ye men of Galilee,
why stand ye gazing up into heaven?
this same Jesus,
which is taken up from you into heaven,
shall so come in like manner
as ye have seen him go into heaven.
