JESUS and SPIRIT

Acts 10:38

King James Version

38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth

with the Holy Ghost and with power

who went about doing good,

and healing all that were oppressed of the devil;

for God was with him.

How did the HOLY SPIRIT manifest Himself in JESUS?

What was JESUS able to do because of SPIRIT?

How did people react to His power?

First, we need to know this:

(We highlighted in red, proof of SPIRIT's presence.)

Matthew 1:18-20

King James Version

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise:

When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph,

before they came together,

she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19 Then Joseph her husband,

being a just man,

and not willing to make her a public example,

was minded to put her away privily.

20 But while he thought on these things,

behold,

the angel of the Lord appeared unto him

in a dream, saying,

Joseph, thou son of David,

fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife:

for that which is conceived in her

is of the Holy Ghost.

Mary was "found with child of the Holy ghost".

JESUS is "of the Holy Ghost".

Thus, JESUS is of the SPIRIT.

Is it any wonder SPIRIT's power in JESUS?

Many verses, and miracles, attest to that.

As in this chapter from Luke:

Luke 4:1-4

King James Version

4 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost

returned from Jordan,

and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

2 Being forty days tempted of the devil.

And in those days he did eat nothing:

and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

3 And the devil said unto him,

If thou be the Son of God,

command this stone that it be made bread.

4 And Jesus answered him, saying,

It is written,

That man shall not live by bread alone,

but by every word of God.

Luke 4:5-8

King James Version

5 And the devil,

taking him up into an high mountain,

shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world

in a moment of time.

6 And the devil said unto him,

All this power will I give thee,

and the glory of them:

for that is delivered unto me;

and to whomsoever I will I give it.

7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

8 And Jesus answered and said unto him,

Get thee behind me, Satan:

for it is written,

Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God,

and him only shalt thou serve.

Luke 4:9-13

King James Version

9 And he brought him to Jerusalem,

and set him on a pinnacle of the temple,

and said unto him,

If thou be the Son of God,

cast thyself down from hence:

10 For it is written,

He shall give his angels charge over thee,

to keep thee:

11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up,

lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

12 And Jesus answering said unto him,

It is said,

Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation,

he departed from him for a season.

Luke 4:14-16

King James Version

14 And Jesus returned

in the power of the Spirit into Galilee

and there went out a fame of him

through all the region round about.

15 And he taught in their synagogues,

being glorified of all.

16 And he came to Nazareth,

where he had been brought up:

and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue

on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

Luke 4:17-21

King James Version

17 And there was delivered unto him

the book of the prophet Esaias.

And when he had opened the book,

he found the place where it was written,

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,

because he hath anointed me

to preach the gospel to the poor;

he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,

to preach deliverance to the captives,

and recovering of sight to the blind,

to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20 And he closed the book,

and he gave it again to the minister,

and sat down.

And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue

were fastened on him.

21 And he began to say unto them,

This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Luke 4:28-32

King James Version

28 And all they in the synagogue,

when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,

29 And rose up, and thrust him out of the city,

and led him unto the brow of the hill

whereon their city was built,

that they might cast him down headlong.

30 But he passing through the midst of them

went his way,

31 And came down to Capernaum,

a city of Galilee,

and taught them on the sabbath days.

32 And they were astonished at his doctrine:

for his word was with power.

Luke 4:33-34

King James Version

33 And in the synagogue there was a man,

which had a spirit of an unclean devil,

and cried out with a loud voice,

34 Saying, Let us alone;

what have we to do with thee,

thou Jesus of Nazareth?

art thou come to destroy us?

I know thee who thou art;

the Holy One of God.

Luke 4:35-37

King James Version

35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying,

Hold thy peace, and come out of him

And when the devil had thrown him in the midst,

he came out of him, and hurt him not.

36 And they were all amazed,

and spake among themselves, saying,

What a word is this!

for with authority and power he commandeth

the unclean spirits, and they come out.

37 And the fame of him went out

into every place of the country round about.

Luke 4:38-39

King James Version

38 And he arose out of the synagogue,

and entered into Simon's house.

And Simon's wife's mother was taken

with a great fever; and they besought him for her.

39 And he stood over her,

and rebuked the fever;

and it left her:

and immediately she arose

and ministered unto them.

Luke 4:40

King James Version

40 Now when the sun was setting,

all they that had any sick with divers diseases

brought them unto him;

and he laid his hands on every one of them,

and healed them.

Luke 4:41

King James Version

41 And devils also came out of many,

crying out, and saying,

Thou art Christ the Son of God

And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak:

for they knew that he was Christ.

Luke 4:42-44

King James Version

42 And when it was day,

he departed and went into a desert place:

and the people sought him,

and came unto him,

and stayed him,

that he should not depart from them.

43 And he said unto them,

I must preach the kingdom of God

to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

44 And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.

UNSEARCHABLE riches of CHRIST

Luke 2:52

King James Version

52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature,

and in favour with God and man.

Today, I'm falling all over myself.

So excited, because there's so much to write about.

Before breakfast, I was taking down notes.

At breakfast, more notes called for attention.

Since GOD made me born again over 52 months ago, it's been this way.

If not for SPIRIT, I'd be all over the place.

He is my GUIDING LIGHT.

Today, He guided me to a particular phrase:

"the unsearchable riches of Christ"

Searching Scripture, I found this verse from apostle Paul:

Ephesians 3:8

King James Version

8 Unto me, who am less

than the least of all saints,

is this grace given,

that I should preach among the Gentiles

the unsearchable riches of Christ;

Well, I am a Gentile.

If you're not a Jew, you're a Gentile.

Really only TWO kinds of people in the world.

That's why I wonder at all the complexities.

But what did apostle Paul mean?

What was the "unsearchable riches of Christ"?

So, I dug further and SPIRIT presented these:

Ephesians 3:9

King James Version

9 And to make all men see

what is the fellowship of the mystery,

which from the beginning of the world

hath been hid in God,

who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Ephesians 3:14-15

King James Version

14 For this cause I bow my knees

unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 Of whom the whole family

in heaven and earth is named,

Colossians 1:14

King James Version

14 In whom we have redemption

through his blood,

even the forgiveness of sins:

Colossians 1:15

King James Version

15 Who is the image of the invisible God,

the firstborn of every creature:

Colossians 1:16

King James Version

16 For by him were all things created,

that are in heaven, and that are in earth,

visible and invisible,

whether they be thrones, or dominions,

or principalities, or powers:

all things were created by him,

and for him:

Colossians 1:17

King James Version

17 And he is before all things,

and by him all things consist.

Colossians 1:18

King James Version

18 And he is the head of the body, the church:

who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;

that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Colossians 1:19

King James Version

19 For it pleased the Father

that in him should all fulness dwell;

Colossians 1:120

King James Version

20 And, having made peace

through the blood of his cross,

by him to reconcile all things unto himself;

by him, I say,

whether they be things in earth,

or things in heaven.

And if we think that tells us all, apostle John just about clinches it:

John 21:25

King James Version

25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did,

the which, if they should be written every one,

I suppose that even the world itself could not contain

the books that should be written.

Amen.

I've been studying, and writing, non-stop over four years now.

And this much I can tell you.

After nearly a hundred blogs, it doesn't suffice.

There's still so much more to write.

Some days, I feel I've barely begun.

So I begin again, and write, and write.

Very humbling, indeed.

The Bible is astoundingly rich in TREASURES!

If you want absolute truth, search Scripture.

Every WORD from GOD is soul-shaking.

Every prophet, and every apostle, have TONS to share with you.

Every believer has much to tell you, of their own testimony.

Believers are all living witnesses to GOD's WORD.

Which happens to be JESUS.

If you think the world is interesting, you don't know JESUS.

If you think the world is fulfilling, you have not experienced JESUS.

If you think the world is full of lies and deception, you're correct.

If you think there's something more to life, you're right.

Time to turn to JESUS then.

What are you waiting for?

It is 2024, after all.

Time for change.

Time for GOD's TRUTH.

Time for JESUS.

VERSES for 2024

Exodus 40:1-2

King James Version

40 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 On the first day of the first month*

shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent

of the congregation.

The FIRST day, of the FIRST month.

Another year gone.

Another year we face.

How are we to live our lives?

What does Scripture want to say?

What are the things we need to know?

What does GOD want us to do?

How does He want us to be?

I heard it all at midnight.

The music, the firecrackers, the revelry.

Every new year's eve, since 2020, has become quieter.

If we could, at all, call it quiet.

But definitely, it's simpler.

May people begin to wake up.

And be obedient to GOD's will.

Every day, I pray that people turn to the LORD.

And not get caught up in the things of the world.

For the Rapture is imminent.

After which, the Tribulation.

By GOD's grace, we continue to live.

At any given moment, all could be gone.

Should that be a depressing thought?

Not for the born again.

Not for the true believer.

Not for those who live by Scripture.

We look forward to being with JESUS forever!

What gift could I give you this year?

GOD's verses, first thing in the morning.

On the fifth hour of this NEW year.

More of Scripture.

More of wake-up calls.

More of GOD's blessings.

And commands.

Such as these:

1 Chronicles 4:9-10

King James Version

9 And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren:

and his mother called his name Jabez, saying,

Because I bare him with sorrow.

10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying,

Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed,

and enlarge my coast,

and that thine hand might be with me,

and that thou wouldest keep me from evil,

that it may not grieve me!

And God granted him that which he requested.

Psalm 34:7-9

King James Version

7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them

that fear him, and delivereth them.

8 O taste and see that the Lord is good:

blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

9 O fear the Lord, ye his saints:

for there is no want to them that fear him.

Ecclesiastes 1:9-11

King James Version

9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be;

and that which is done is that which shall be done:

and there is no new thing under the sun.

10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said,

See, this is new? it hath been already of old time,

which was before us.

11 There is no remembrance of former things;

neither shall there be any remembrance of things

that are to come with those that shall come after.

Isaiah 43:18-19

King James Version

18 Remember ye not the former things,

neither consider the things of old.

19 Behold, I will do a new thing;

now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?

I will even make a way in the wilderness,

and rivers in the desert.

Matthew 5:14-16

King James Version

14 Ye are the light of the world.

A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle,

and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick;

and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men,

that they may see your good works,

and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 11:6

King James Version

6 And blessed is he,

whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Mark 1:15

King James Version

15 And saying,

The time is fulfilled,

and the kingdom of God is at hand:

repent ye, and believe the gospel.

John 3:5-8

King James Version

5 Jesus answered,

Verily, verily, I say unto thee,

Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit,

he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh;

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

8 The wind bloweth where it listeth,

and thou hearest the sound thereof,

but canst not tell whence it cometh,

and whither it goeth:

so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Romans 12:1-2

King James Version

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren,

by the mercies of God,

that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,

holy, acceptable unto God,

which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world:

but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,

that ye may prove what is that good,

and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 13:11-14

King James Version

11 And that, knowing the time,

that now it is high time to awake out of sleep:

for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand:

let us therefore cast off the works of darkness,

and let us put on the armour of light.

13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day;

not in rioting and drunkenness,

not in chambering and wantonness,

not in strife and envying.

14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ,

and make not provision for the flesh,

to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Romans 14:11-13

King James Version

11 For it is written,

As I live, saith the Lord,

every knee shall bow to me,

and every tongue shall confess to God.

12 So then every one of us

shall give account of himself to God.

13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more:

but judge this rather,

that no man put a stumblingblock

or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

2 Corinthians 5:17

King James Version

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ,

he is a new creature:

old things are passed away;

behold, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:18-21

King James Version

18 And all things are of God,

who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ,

and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 To wit, that God was in Christ,

reconciling the world unto himself,

not imputing their trespasses unto them;

and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ,

as though God did beseech you by us:

we pray you in Christ's stead,

be ye reconciled to God.

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us,

who knew no sin;

that we might be made

the righteousness of God in him.

Hebrews 10:22-27

King James Version

22 Let us draw near with a true heart

in full assurance of faith,

having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience,

and our bodies washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold fast

the profession of our faith without wavering;

(for he is faithful that promised;)

24 And let us consider one another

to provoke unto love and to good works:

25 Not forsaking

the assembling of ourselves together,

as the manner of some is;

but exhorting one another:

and so much the more,

as ye see the day approaching.

26 For if we sin wilfully

after that we have received the knowledge of the truth,

there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment

and fiery indignation,

which shall devour the adversaries.

2 Peter 1:2-3

King James Version

2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you

through the knowledge of God,

and of Jesus our Lord,

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us

all things that pertain unto life and godliness,

through the knowledge of him

that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Revelation 1:3

King James Version

3 Blessed is he that readeth,

and they that hear the words of this prophecy,

and keep those things which are written therein:

for the time is at hand.

Revelation 1:5-7

King James Version

5 And from Jesus Christ,

who is the faithful witness,

and the first begotten of the dead,

and the prince of the kings of the earth.

Unto him that loved us,

and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

6 And hath made us kings and priests

unto God and his Father;

to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.

Amen.

7 Behold, he cometh with clouds;

and every eye shall see him,

and they also which pierced him:

and all kindreds of the earth shall wail

because of him. Even so, Amen.

These things we need to meditate upon.

Let everything be for the GLORY of the FATHER.

Let us be awake, aware, and alert.

Let our thoughts be pure, perfect, and precise.

Let our ways be holy, and acceptable to the LORD.

Let us focus on JESUS alone:

Colossians 3:1-2

King James Version

3 If ye then be risen with Christ,

seek those things which are above,

where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above,

not on things on the earth.
