The TRUE SECRET of GOOD HEALTH

Oh, to be FREE of sin!

1 John 1:9

King James Version

9 If we confess our sins,

he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,

and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

What does it take to be truly healthy?

Depends what you're referring to.

Healthy in mind?

In body?

In spirit?

All of the above?

All those are possible, with GOD.

If it serves God's purpose, we will be healthy.

If we're not healthy, it also serves God's purpose.

Only God KNOWS His own purposes.

Only by being born again, can we begin to understand the ways of God.

When we're born again, we always pray to JESUS to know GOD's will.

And we will surely receive an answer.

The HOLY SPIRIT will teach us obedience to God.

Through Spirit, we can understand that the state of our body, hinges upon the state of our spirit.

Scripture testifies of that.

John 5:1-9

King James Version

5 After this there was a feast of the Jews;

and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool,

which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda

having five porches.

3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk,

of blind,

halt,

withered,

waiting for the moving of the water.

4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool,

and troubled the water:

whosoever then first

after the troubling of the water stepped in

was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

5 And a certain man was there,

which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

6 When Jesus saw him lie,

and knew that he had been now a long time in that case,

he saith unto him,

Wilt thou be made whole?

7 The impotent man answered him,

Sir,

I have no man,

when the water is troubled,

to put me into the pool:

but while I am coming,

another steppeth down before me.

8 Jesus saith unto him,

Rise,

take up thy bed,

and walk.

9 And immediately

the man was made whole,

and took up his bed,

and walked

and on the same day was the sabbath.

After being healed, Jesus encounters this man again.

The LORD reminded him.

John 5:14

King James Version

14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple,

and said unto him,

Behold,

thou art made whole:

sin no more,

lest a worse thing come unto thee.

Now healed, from sin and sickness, the man announced who healed him.

John 5:15

King James Version

15 The man departed,

and told the Jews that it was Jesus,

which had made him whole.

Like I said in the previous post, the Lord knows what ails us.

He knows the connection between sin, and sickness.

Mark 2:17

King James Version

17 When Jesus heard it,

he saith unto them,

They that are whole

have no need of the physician,

but they that are sick:

I came not to call the righteous,

but sinners to repentance.

It's important we know about sin, and REPENT.

By the GRACE of GOD, we will all be healthy, and live a GOD-filled life!

JESUS heals on a SABBATH

Luke 6:7

King James Version

7 And the scribes and Pharisees watched him,

whether he would heal on the sabbath day;

that they might find an accusation against him.

The lovely thing about Jesus, is that He continually confounds His challengers, especially the Pharisees, and scribes.

Such as the day He healed on a Sabbath.

Luke 13:10-13

King James Version

10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.

11 And,

behold,

there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years

and was bowed together,

and could in no wise lift up herself.

12 And when Jesus saw her,

he called her to him,

and said unto her,

Woman,

thou art loosed from thine infirmity.

13 And he laid his hands on her:

and immediately she was made straight,

and glorified God.

Of course, this was exactly the opportunity the Pharisees were waiting for.

Luke 13:14-17

King James Version

14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation,

because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day

and said unto the people,

There are six days in which men ought to work:

in them therefore come and be healed,

and not on the sabbath day.

15 The Lord then answered him,

and said,

Thou hypocrite,

doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall,

and lead him away to watering?

16 And ought not this woman,

being a daughter of Abraham,

whom Satan hath bound,

lo,

these eighteen years,

be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

17 And when he had said these things,

all his adversaries were ashamed:

and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

Let Scripture give us another instance wherein Jesus healed on a Sabbath.

Luke 14:1-2

King James Version

14 And it came to pass,

as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day,

that they watched him.

2 And, behold,

there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.

Oh boy, here goes.

We know what Jesus would do.

For He loved people.

He was in service to God.

So, He does what comes naturally to His heart.

Nevertheless, the Lord asks His critics:

Luke 14:3

King James Version

3 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees,

saying,

Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?

No answer was forthcoming, so Jesus healed the man.

Luke 14:4

King James Version

4 And they held their peace.

And he took him,

and healed him,

and let him go;

After which, Jesus pointed out something.

Luke 14:5

King James Version

5 And answered them,

 saying,

Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit,

and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?

It seems, the "ass and ox" reasoning did wonders to their thinking.

They got the Lord's point.

Luke 14:6

King James Version

6 And they could not answer him again to these things.

JESUS has the last word on the SABBATH:

Mark 2:27-28

King James Version

27 And he said unto them,

The sabbath was made for man,

and not man for the sabbath:

28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Jesus knows the law.

He is the fulfillment of Scripture.

His critics never stood a chance.

WHEN is the SABBATH?

WHEN is the SABBATH?

Exodus 33:14

King James Version

14 And he said,

My presence shall go with thee,

and I will give thee rest.

I've always wondered about the Sabbath.

What day is it, really?

As born again, the HOLY SPIRIT led me to search GOD's TRUTH.

It seems Constantine changed the rest day to Sunday, where before, it was a Saturday.

Surely, many people wonder which one is Biblical.

I do remember the Lord's commandment:

Exodus 20:8-11

King James Version

8 Remember the sabbath day,

to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour,

and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God:

in it thou shalt not do any work

thou,

nor thy son,

nor thy daughter,

thy manservant,

nor thy maidservant,

nor thy cattle,

nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth,

the sea,

and all that in them is,

and rested the seventh day:

wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day,

and hallowed it.

Confirmed by the Book of Genesis:

Genesis 2:2-3

King James Version

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made;

and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3 And God blessed the seventh day,

and sanctified it:

because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Does God need rest?

That's answered by Don Stewart here.

I also learned from Scripture that the LORD JESUS was resurrected the morning after the Sabbath:

Luke 24:1-3

King James Version

24 Now upon the first day of the week,

very early in the morning,

they came unto the sepulchre

bringing the spices which they had prepared,

and certain others with them.

2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

3 And they entered in,

and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

Matthew 28:1-6

King James Version

28 In the end of the sabbath,

as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week,

came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

2 And, behold,

there was a great earthquake:

for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven,

and came and rolled back the stone from the door,

and sat upon it.

3 His countenance was like lightning,

and his raiment white as snow:

4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake,

and became as dead men.

5 And the angel answered and said unto the women,

Fear not ye:

for I know that ye seek Jesus,

which was crucified.

6 He is not here:

for he is risen

as he said.

Come,

see the place where the Lord lay.

So now, I FINALLY know these things about the Sabbath:

1. Sabbath is Saturday -- a REST day.

2. Sunday is the FIRST day of the week.

Does the world conform to Scripture?

If it doesn't, you know who made sure it isn't.

Scripture also says Jesus healed on a Sabbath -- to the great shock of the Pharisees -- and that's the subject of the next post.
