We need SPIRIT


1 John 4:1

King James Version

4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, 

but try the spirits whether they are of God: 

because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

What is truth?

Is there such a thing as ULTIMATE truth?

How do you find it?

Where do you look for it?

Are you really looking for it?

Well, I did, and have -- for the longest time.

Through my own steam, I searched for it.

Read tons of books.

Listened to so-called gurus.

Eyes and ears always attuned.

For something that spelled truth.

Or at least, felt like it.

And yet, a "piece" remained missing.

Something remained elusive.

Why couldn't I latch on to it?

Why was it being kept from me?

Was I going about it the right way?

What was I doing wrong?

I used my steam, till I ran out of steam.

Not realizing I couldn't do it on my own.

And that's when I sat still.

Reviewing my life thus far.

And started to look into my sins.

Aghast at the gravity of it.

Ashamed at my own ignorance.

And supreme blindness.

Choosing to sin no more.

Asking GOD for clarity.

GOD took pity upon my penitent heart.

Five months after, He made me born again.

After that, ALL became clear in September 2019.

And here's what I found --

We need GOD's SPIRIT:

1 Corinthians 2:9-14

King James Version

9 But as it is written, 

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, 

neither have entered into the heart of man, 

the things which God hath prepared 

for them that love him.

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: 

for the Spirit searcheth all things, 

yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, 

save the spirit of man which is in him? 

even so the things of God knoweth no man, 

but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, 

not the spirit of the world, 

but the spirit which is of God; 

that we might know the things 

that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, 

not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, 

but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; 

comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receiveth not 

the things of the Spirit of God: 

for they are foolishness unto him: 

neither can he know them, 

because they are spiritually discerned.

I found that because SPIRIT wanted me to find it.

He wanted me to know His truth.

GOD is truly merciful.

He let me use my own steam, till I ran out of it.

Upon my surrender, He took over.

But He gave me a chance to find out for myself first.

Such is GOD's LOVE for us.

As born again, I've also observed something.

Many pastors are puzzled why people don't understand Scripture.

Many pastors wonder why people continue to sin.

Many pastors seem lost for answers themselves.

As I listen to their sermons, I keep waiting for them to acknowledge SPIRIT.

Few acknowledge the role of SPIRIT in correcting this troubled world.

Only through SPIRIT, can we know GOD's truth.

Only through SPIRIT can we understand JESUS.

Only through SPIRIT, can we understand Scripture.

Only through SPIRIT, can we understand what being born again means.

How do I know?

JESUS tells us Himself.

For He prayed for that very SPIRIT to live in us.

Making sure we were not orphaned when He was taken up to heaven.

John 14:16-17 

King James Version

16 And I will pray the Father, 

and he shall give you another Comforter, 

that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; 

whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, 

neither knoweth him: but ye know him; 

for he dwelleth with you, 

and shall be in you.

John 14:26 

King James Version

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, 

whom the Father will send in my name, 

he shall teach you all things, 

and bring all things to your remembrance, 

whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 15:26 

King James Version

26 But when the Comforter is come, 

whom I will send unto you from the Father, 

even the Spirit of truth, 

which proceedeth from the Father, 

he shall testify of me:

Never again will you be lost.

Never again will you be confused.

Never again will you be manipulated.

You have the SPIRIT of GOD to guide you.

Philippians 2:12

What is "due" diligence?

In spiritual terms it's very different.

It's not what the world programmed us to do.

It's what the WORD of GOD wants us to do.

To believe in JESUS.

To love GOD, and others.

To listen to the HOLY SPIRIT.

To live by the Bible.

That's what due diligence is.

As you shall see from these verses:

to the voice of the Lord thy God, 

and wilt do that which is right in his sight, 

and wilt give ear to his commandments, 

and keep all his statutes,

The WALKING dead


Ephesians 2:2

2 Wherein in time past 

ye walked according to the course of this world, 

according to the prince of the power of the air, 

the spirit that now worketh

Is there such a thing?

The walking dead?

Oh yes, very much so!

We laugh.

We joke.

We think they're cool.

Many like zombie films.

Not knowing it's close to the truth.

Why are we obsessed with zombie films?

We are all zombies.

All living dead.

UNLESS, and UNTIL, we are saved.

Wherein we believe in JESUS.

We come to life.

For these reasons:

Romans 8:5-8

King James Version

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind 

the things of the flesh; 

but they that are after the Spirit 

the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; 

but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: 

for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 8:13

13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: 

but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body,

We are zombies, because of sin.

We need to be born again,

That GOD's SPIRIT may be in us.

John 3:3-7

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, 

Except a man be born again, 

he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, 

How can a man be born when he is old? 

can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, 

and be born?

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, 

Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, 

he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; 

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Ye must be born again.

Romans 8:10

10 And if Christ be in you, 

the body is dead because of sin; 

but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

A born again becomes a new creature in CHRIST.

2 Corinthians 5:17

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, 

he is a new creature: 

old things are passed away; 

behold, all things are become new.

Believers will have a new, glorified body.

Right now, we are in flesh.

But one day, we will have a spiritual body.

When we are resurrected by CHRIST.

JESUS was raised from the dead.

Believers will experience that, too.

How are the dead raised up? 

and with what body do they come?

36 Thou fool, 

that which thou sowest is not quickened,

2 Timothy 3:16-17

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, 

and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, 

for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, 

thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

How can we really know how we have hurt others?

How can we really know the consequences of our sins?

How can we really know we've sinned at all?

Only when GOD makes us born again.

That's when awareness starts.

For GOD sends His SPIRIT to teach us.

We are taught about JESUS.

We are taught about Scripture.

We are taught about GOD's laws.

Only then can we become aware of the damage we've done.

Whether to ourselves, or to others.

And how we've displeased GOD.

How we've defied GOD.

How we've turned our backs on Him.

How we've disobeyed His commandments.

But what if we didn't know anything about GOD yet?

Well, there's Scripture to tell us.

It is GOD's book.

It is His story.

His history.

Proof of His love.

Proof of His never-ending patience.

Proof of His promises.

Only by being born again can we know all that.

Unless, and until we have the HOLY SPIRIT in us, we can't understand Scripture perfectly.

Only SPIRIT teaches us perfectly.

JESUS promised:

John 16:13-14

King James Version

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, 

he will guide you into all truth: 

for he shall not speak of himself; 

but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: 

and he will shew you things to come.

14 He shall glorify me: 

for he shall receive of mine, 

and shall shew it unto you.

It doesn't matter if you're the worst sinner on earth.

Apostle Paul claimed to be that.

1 Timothy 1:15

King James Version

15 This is a faithful saying, 

and worthy of all acceptation, 

that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; 

of whom I am chief.

I, too, claim to be that.

But I get comfort from Scripture.

I am grateful for being born again.

SPIRIT teaches me everything.

How I've sinned.

Who I've hurt.

The consequences of my actions.

Can I undo all that?

Only through GOD's MERCY is that possible.

When He sent JESUS to save us from sin.

Romans 10:9

King James Version

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, 

and shalt believe in thine heart 

that God hath raised him from the dead, 

thou shalt be saved.

JESUS commands we repent.

For the time is "at hand".

Mark 1:15

King James Version

15 And saying, 

The time is fulfilled, 

and the kingdom of God is at hand: 

repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Get right with JESUS now.

Seek GOD with all your heart.

Pray to be born again.

That SPIRIT may teach you all things.

So you become aware.

And start your own healing process.

It's important to know how we've displeased GOD.

How we've hurt others, and ourselves.

It will be tough.

It will be painful.

It will be haunting.

But we'll get there.

SCRIPTURE asks questions

 1 Corinthians 2:9

King James Version

9 But as it is written, 

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,

As we have questions for the Bible, the Bible also asks us questions.

Demanding satisfactory answers.

Aghast that we have not known.

Challenging our norms.

Stretching our thinking.

Causing us to ponder upon them.

As can be seen from TWO striking sets of verses.

Which were coursed through prophets and apostles:

Isaiah 40:28

28 Hast thou not known? 

hast thou not heard, 

that the everlasting God, 

the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, 

fainteth not, neither is weary? 

there is no searching of his understanding.

is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, 

which ye have of God,

And we'd better come up with satisfactory answers.

And not lie, bluff, or fabricate.

For GOD sees, and knows.
