SPIRITUAL armor

1 Corinthians 2:13

King James Version

13 Which things also we speak,

not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth,

but which the Holy Ghost teacheth;

comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

In an earlier article, the HOLY SPIRIT guided me to write about the FULL ARMOR of GOD.

In this post you're reading now, SPIRIT guided me to SCRIPTURE, explaining why you need ALL seven pieces to the armor.

For the BELIEVER, it's a moment-by-moment spiritual warfare.

Here's how you can be SPIRITUALLY-equipped:

1. having your loins girt about with truth

Your loins can be found from the rib, to the hip.

That's where man is being attacked, through lust.

But know this truth:

The body is the TEMPLE of the HOLY SPIRIT.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

King James Version

19 What?

know ye not that your body

is the temple of the Holy Ghost

which is in you,

which ye have of God,

and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price:

therefore glorify God in your body,

and in your spirit,

which are God's.

2. having on the breastplate of righteousness

If you're not born again, if you're not righteous, if you're not holy, you don't stand a chance.

The enemy will find tons of loopholes.

The LORD JESUS commanded:

Matthew 5:48

King James Version

48 Be ye therefore perfect,

even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

3. your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace

If you belong to JESUS, as born again, you must walk the LORD's walk.

You must walk in the SPIRIT.

JESUS is the PRINCE of PEACE.

Isaiah 9:6

King James Version

6 For unto us a child is born,

unto us a son is given:

and the government shall be upon his shoulder:

and his name shall be called Wonderful,

Counsellor,

The mighty God,

The everlasting Father,

The Prince of Peace.

4. taking the shield of faith

Faith is power.

Through FAITH, "ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked".

Rely upon GOD, at ALL times.

Joshua 1:9

King James Version

9 Have not I commanded thee?

Be strong and of a good courage;

be not afraid,

neither be thou dismayed:

for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

5. take the helmet of salvation

The helmet protects the head.

The enemy messes with our mind.

You have to have the MIND of CHRIST, to protect yourself.

1 Corinthians 2:16

King James Version

16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord,

that he may instruct him?

but we have the mind of Christ.

6. the sword of the Spirit

The SWORD of the SPIRIT is the WORD of GOD.

Watch how it cuts through ALL untruth:

Hebrews 4:12

King James Version

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful,

and sharper than any twoedged sword,

piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,

and of the joints and marrow,

and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

7. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit

The LORD JESUS taught us to pray to the FATHER.

We are best equipped if we LOVE and OBEY GOD, relying on Him for EVERYTHING.

Matthew 6:9-13

King James Version

9 After this manner therefore pray ye

Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done in earth,

as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power,

and the glory,

for ever.

Amen.

NO fellowship with UNBELIEVERS

 Luke 16:15

King James Version

15 And he said unto them,

Ye are they which justify yourselves before men;

but God knoweth your hearts:

for that which is highly esteemed among men

is abomination in the sight of God.

In these latter days, it's time to make a decision.

Are you of CHRIST, or are you of the enemy?

Here's what it means to make a decision:

1 Corinthians 10:21

King James Version

21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord,

and the cup of devils:

ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table,

and of the table of devils.

Deuteronomy 22:10

King James Version

10 Thou shalt not plow

with an ox and an ass together.

Psalm 73:27

King James Version

27 For, lo

they that are far from thee shall perish:

thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.

Isaiah 30:1

King James Version

30 Woe to the rebellious children,

saith the Lord,

that take counsel, but not of me

and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit,

that they may add sin to sin:

Matthew 6:24

King James Version

24 No man can serve two masters

for either he will hate the one, and love the other;

or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other

Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Matthew 7:6

King James Version

6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs,

neither cast ye your pearls before swine

lest they trample them under their feet,

and turn again and rend you.

John 10:23-26

King James Version

23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

24 Then came the Jews round about him,

and said unto him,

How long dost thou make us to doubt?

If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

25 Jesus answered them

I told you, and ye believed not

the works that I do in my Father's name,

they bear witness of me.

26 But ye believe not,

because ye are not of my sheep,

as I said unto you.

John 10:27

King James Version

27 My sheep hear my voice,

and I know them,

and they follow me:

John 17:14

King James Version

14 I have given them thy word;

and the world hath hated them,

because they are not of the world,

even as I am not of the world.

2 Corinthians 6:14

King James Version

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:

for what fellowship hath righteousness

with unrighteousness?

and what communion hath light

with darkness?

2 Corinthians 6:15-18

King James Version

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial?

or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?

for ye are the temple of the living God

as God hath said,

I will dwell in them, and walk in them;

and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 Wherefore come out from among them,

and be ye separate,

saith the Lord,

and touch not the unclean thing;

and I will receive you.

18 And will be a Father unto you,

and ye shall be my sons and daughters,

saith the Lord Almighty.

James 4:4

King James Version

4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses,

know ye not that the friendship of the world

is enmity with God?

whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world

is the enemy of God.

The LORD hears your CRY

Psalm 34:8

King James Version

8 O taste and see that the Lord is good:

blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

What help is it that you need?

Who can you turn to?

Who can really help you?

Who has ALL the answers?

As born again, I turn to JESUS alone.

Before a prayer is even finished, He already answers me.

Scripture testifies of it.

Isaiah 65:24

King James Version

24 And it shall come to pass,

that before they call,

I will answer;

and while they are yet speaking,

I will hear.

Call on the LORD, for all your troubles.

He alone sees the big picture.

This is how GOD responds to your prayer:

Psalm 34:4

King James Version

4 I sought the Lord,

and he heard me,

and delivered me from all my fears.

Psalm 34:5

King James Version

5 They looked unto him,

and were lightened

and their faces were not ashamed.

Psalm 34:6

King James Version

6 This poor man cried,

and the Lord heard him,

and saved him out of all his troubles.

Psalm 34:7

King James Version

7 The angel of the Lord encampeth

round about them that fear him,

and delivereth them.

Psalm 34:10

King James Version

10 The young lions do lack,

and suffer hunger:

but they that seek the Lord

shall not want any good thing.

Psalm 34:15

King James Version

15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous,

and his ears are open unto their cry.

Psalm 34:17

King James Version

17 The righteous cry,

and the Lord heareth,

and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

Psalm 34:18

King James Version

18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart;

and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Psalm 34:19

King James Version

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous:

but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

Psalm 34:22

King James Version

22 The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants:

and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

VAIN repetitions

2 Timothy 3:16-17

King James Version

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God,

and is profitable for doctrine,

for reproof,

for correction,

for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect,

thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

What are vain repetitions?

What does vain repetition mean?

First, let the dictionary define "vain".

In this post, it means "useless", or "producing no result".

What, do you think, are vain repetitions in our various churches?

I will refer to a couple here.

For I was once a Catholic.

According to Scripture, vain repetitions are these:

Matthew 6:7

King James Version

7 But when ye pray,

use not vain repetitions,

as the heathen do:

for they think that they shall be heard

for their much speaking.

Hebrews 10:11

King James Version

11 And every priest standeth daily

ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices,

which can never take away sins:

The first verse refers to how I used to pray the rosary.

The second verse refers to how I used to attend mass.

Rebelling at anything repetitive, mindless, and robotic, I did ask many questions early on.

No one volunteered an answer, until GOD made me  born again over 30 months ago.

Then, I began reading Scripture.

The WORD of GOD opened my eyes, soothed my heart, and delighted my being.

GOD's SPIRIT made things clear for me.

Now, I knew there was REAL basis for my questions.

JESUS did not want us to use vain repetitions when we pray.

He did not want us to be like the heathen.

Matthew 6:8

King James Version

8 Be not ye therefore like unto them:

for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of,

before ye ask him.

Rather, the LORD taught us what to pray.

Matthew 6:9-13

King James Version

9 After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done in earth,

as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power,

and the glory,

for ever.

Amen.

GOD does not delight in the sacrifice of rams, bulls, lambs, and goats.

Isaiah 1:11

King James Version

11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me?

saith the Lord

I am full of the burnt offerings of rams,

and the fat of fed beasts;

and I delight not in the blood of bullocks,

or of lambs,

or of he goats.

Scripture gave these reasons.

Hebrews 10:3

King James Version

3 But in those sacrifices

there is a remembrance again

made of sins every year.

Hebrews 10:4

King James Version

4 For it is not possible

that the blood of bulls and of goats

should take away sins.

Hebrews 10:11

King James Version

11 And every priest standeth daily

ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices,

which can never take away sins:

GOD does not delight in vain oblations.

Isaiah 1:13

King James Version

13 Bring no more vain oblations

incense is an abomination unto me;

the new moons and sabbaths,

the calling of assemblies,

I cannot away with;

it is iniquity,

even the solemn meeting.

He already offered the PERFECT LAMB.

His SON, JESUS.

Hebrews 10:10

King James Version

10 By the which will we are sanctified

through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ

once for all.

Hebrews 10:12-14

King James Version

12 But this man,

after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever

sat down on the right hand of God;

13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

14 For by one offering

he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

That sacrifice of the LORD JESUS, dying on the CROSS to save us from our sins, sufficed.

There is no other sacrifice more to be done, that's why we are warned:

Hebrews 10:26-27

King James Version

26 For if we sin wilfully

after that we have received the knowledge of the truth,

there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment

and fiery indignation,

which shall devour the adversaries.

Of course, this world belongs to the enemy.

Expect him to twist everything the LORD perfected.

And this is what we are asked to do in these very trying times:

1 Thessalonians 5:23

King James Version

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly;

and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body

be preserved blameless

unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let's get our gospel right, and we shall live right.

Only by being born again, born of the water, and of GOD's SPIRIT, can you begin to understand what JESUS taught us.

Only in JESUS can we have SALVATION.

And that is a fact.

Pray, to know.

Can we live by FAITH alone?

Romans 10:17

King James Version

17 So then faith cometh by hearing,

and hearing by the word of God.

Is it possible to live by faith alone?

Yes, depending on who, or what, you put your faith in.

I've put my faith in God.

Before becoming born again.

After becoming born again.

I've always known there was a God.

And I know He's looked after me.

He's allowed me to make mistakes.

But when I was ready for His teachings, giving up all other teachings, He sent His Holy Spirit.

Once you've got the LORD's SPIRIT in you, you'll forever be changed.

You will live by faith alone.

You will trust Him completely.

You will rely on the WORD of GOD.

You will search Scripture constantly.

You will let the Holy Spirit explain Scripture to you.

You will follow the Spirit's prompts ALL the time.

You will not be unnerved by the world, and its seeming confusion.

You will understand that ONLY GOD has control over EVERYTHING.

You will wonder why no one seems to notice the stuff you see -- the signs, the symptoms, the symbols showing up all around you.

You will surrender your will to God's greater will.

You will love working for the Lord.

You will begin to see the WHOLE picture.

The pieces of your life's puzzle begin to fit together.

The nonsensical world begins to make sense.

There's really so much more when you become God's own, and the Holy Spirit starts teaching you.

You begin to know who JESUS really is.

You will feel truly loved.

You will marvel at His peace, His elegance, His compassion, His grace, His strength, His power, His glory, and His wisdom.

You begin to have grace, and elegance yourself.

You become strong, and steady.

You begin to know the things that matter most.

You begin to love being alive for Christ.

You realize there are TONS to do for the Lord.

Your life takes on new meaning.

You awaken to your life's purpose.

You're done with the ways of the world.

The world cannot feed your soul.

Only JESUS does.

Only His WORD keeps you afloat.

If you put your faith in the world, you will be on a roller coaster ride.

An RCR.

A roller coaster ride.

Up, and down.

Thrown this way, and that.

Upside down, straight back on.

Cheap thrills, and then what?

What happens next?

You look for the next cheap thrill.

Though they've made it expensive now.

With the Lord, you're on strong foundation.

Forever strong.

Forever steady.

Forever reliable.

JESUS is that ROCK.

1 Corinthians 10:4

King James Version

4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink:

for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them:

and that Rock was Christ.

If we LOVE JESUS

 Mark 12:29-30

King James Version

29 And Jesus answered him,

The first of all the commandments is,

Hear, O Israel;

The Lord our God is one Lord:

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God

with all thy heart,

and with all thy soul,

and with all thy mind,

and with all thy strength:

this is the first commandment.

Have you accepted JESUS?

If not, why haven't you?

Are you aware of the LORD's sacrifice?

Do you know how easy it is to LOVE Him?

How should we love Him?

How does the LORD want to be loved?

Here's what JESUS Himself said:

John 14:15

King James Version

15 If ye love me,

keep my commandments.

John 14:23

King James Version

23 Jesus answered and said unto him,

If a man love me,

he will keep my words

and my Father will love him,

and we will come unto him,

and make our abode with him.

John 14:28

King James Version

28 Ye have heard how I said unto you,

I go away,

and come again unto you.

If ye loved me,

ye would rejoice

because I said,

I go unto the Father:

for my Father is greater than I.

Whoever loves JESUS, will be loved by the FATHER, too.

JESUS said so Himself.

John 14:21

King James Version

21 He that hath my commandments,

and keepeth them,

he it is that loveth me:

and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father

and I will love him,

and will manifest myself to him.

Only by becoming born again, and being taught by the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD, can we learn to love JESUS.

For SPIRIT testifies of JESUS:

John 14:26

King James Version

26 But the Comforter,

which is the Holy Ghost,

whom the Father will send in my name,

he shall teach you all things,

and bring all things to your remembrance,

whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 15:26

King James Version

26 But when the Comforter is come,

whom I will send unto you from the Father,

even the Spirit of truth,

which proceedeth from the Father,

he shall testify of me:

Only through SPIRIT did I know how to love JESUS.

For He led me to Scripture.

Which is easy to understand if you're born again.

And childlike.

Ever-trusting in GOD.
