1 Timothy 4:1-2
King James Version
4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly,
that in the latter times
some shall depart from the faith,
giving heed to seducing spirits,
and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy;
having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
How can you tell if something is true?
How can you tell if something is a lie?
Especially when people talk about JESUS?
All signs of the end times, mind you.
One good example is what I saw from this video.
Right away, the warning signals were there.
People promoting JESUS at at the Superbowl says:
"He gets us."
Wouldn't it be the other way, instead?
We get Him.
That was the first sign there was something wrong.
Our LORD JESUS' message was being falsely bandied about.
Does JESUS need to be promoted at a Superbowl meet?
Was that how He reached nations?
Was that how He reached people?
People who are sports-hungry?
People who are crazed about games?
Or, is JESUS rather found in humble places?
Where the sick and poor were?
Where the hungry were?
Luke 9:10-17
King James Version
10 And the apostles,
when they were returned,
told him all that they had done.
And he took them,
and went aside privately into a desert place
belonging to the city called Bethsaida.
11 And the people, when they knew it, followed him:
and he received them,
and spake unto them of the kingdom of God,
and healed them that had need of healing.
12 And when the day began to wear away,
then came the twelve, and said unto him,
Send the multitude away,
that they may go into the towns and country round about,
and lodge, and get victuals:
for we are here in a desert place.
13 But he said unto them,
Give ye them to eat.
And they said,
We have no more but five loaves and two fishes;
except we should go and buy meat for all this people.
14 For they were about five thousand men.
And he said to his disciples,
Make them sit down by fifties in a company.
15 And they did so,
and made them all sit down.
16 Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes,
and looking up to heaven,
he blessed them,
and brake,
and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.
17 And they did eat,
and were all filled:
and there was taken up of fragments
that remained to them twelve baskets.
Something's really wrong about putting out a blaring $100-M ad for JESUS at the Superbowl.
Did He need heavy advertising?
Did He need expensive advertising?
Did He need rich donors?
Didn't He tell a rich man:
Matthew 19:21-23
King James Version
21 Jesus said unto him,
If thou wilt be perfect,
go and sell that thou hast,
and give to the poor,
and thou shalt have treasure in heaven:
and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying,
he went away sorrowful:
for he had great possessions.
23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples,
Verily I say unto you,
That a rich man shall hardly enter
into the kingdom of heaven.
Didn't He tell His disciples:
Matthew 16:24-25
King James Version
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples,
If any man will come after me,
let him deny himself,
and take up his cross,
and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it:
and whosoever will lose his life for my sake
shall find it.
Beware the talons of Satan.
He's got the world rigged.
Stick close to GOD's WORD.
JESUS doesn't need commercialization.
He needs to take you out of commerce.
Matthew 16:26
King James Version
26 For what is a man profited,
if he shall gain the whole world,
and lose his own soul?
or what shall a man give
in exchange for his soul?
