Exodus 20:1-3

King James Version

20 And God spake all these words,

2 I am the Lord thy God,

which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt,

out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

God hates idolatry, because He is the LIVING GOD.

You will find out, from these verses His Holy Spirit led me to:

Joshua 3:9-10

King James Version

9 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel

Come hither,

and hear the words of the Lord your God.

10 And Joshua said,

Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you,

and that he will without fail drive out from before you

the Canaanites,

and the Hittites,

and the Hivites,

and the Perizzites,

and the Girgashites,

and the Amorites,

and the Jebusites.

Jeremiah 10:10

King James Version

10 But the Lord is the true God,

he is the living God,

and an everlasting king:

at his wrath the earth shall tremble,

and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

Daniel 6:25-28

King James Version

25 Then king Darius wrote unto all people

and languages,

that dwell in all the earth;

Peace be multiplied unto you.

26 I make a decree,

That in every dominion of my kingdom

men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel:

for he is the living God,

and stedfast for ever,

and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed,

and his dominion shall be even unto the end.

27 He delivereth and rescueth,

and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth,

who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius,

and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

Through JESUS, this was revealed:

John 6:57-58

King James Version

57 As the living Father hath sent me,

and I live by the Father:

so he that eateth me,

even he shall live by me.

58 This is that bread which came down from heaven:

not as your fathers did eat manna,

and are dead:

he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

One day, Jesus asked His disciples:

Matthew 16:13

King James Version

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi,

he asked his disciples,

Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

They replied:

Matthew 16:14

King James Version

14 And they said,

Some say that thou art John the Baptist:

and others,

or one of the prophets.

But, the LORD persisted:

Matthew 16:15

King James Version

15 He saith unto them,

But whom say ye that I am?

Finally, Peter volunteered:

Matthew 16:16

King James Version

16 And Simon Peter answered and said,

Thou art the Christ,

the Son of the living God.

Pleased, JESUS gave the final remark:

Matthew 16:17

King James Version

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him,

Blessed art thou,

Simon Barjona:

for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee,

but my Father which is in heaven.

That's why He hates idolatry.

That's why His WORD is alive.

Hebrews 4:12

King James Version

12 For the word of God is quick,

and powerful,

and sharper than any twoedged sword,

piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,

and of the joints and marrow,

and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

And that's why we are not to serve idols, of any sort.

We are to serve the living God.

In honor of the sacrificed Lamb.

Hebrews 9:14

King James Version

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ,

who through the eternal Spirit

offered himself without spot to God,

purge your conscience from dead works

to serve the living God?
