King James Version
11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
From the four earlier posts, we know how people sought Jesus for healing.
Even as the Lord purposely came unannounced, somehow people heard about it, and off they went to see the Lord, as you will see in these verses.
Mark 6:53-56
King James Version
53 And when they had passed over,
they came into the land of Gennesaret,
and drew to the shore.
54 And when they were come out of the ship,
straightway they knew him,
55 And ran through that whole region round about,
and began to carry about in beds those that were sick,
where they heard he was.
56 And whithersoever he entered,
into villages,
or cities,
or country,
they laid the sick in the streets,
and besought him that they might touch
if it were but the border of his garment:
and as many as touched him were made whole.
The people were so happy to be healed, they broadcast the word around, even if Jesus asked they don't.
Mark 1:40-45
King James Version
40 And there came a leper to him,
beseeching him,
and kneeling down to him,
and saying unto him,
If thou wilt,
thou canst make me clean.
41 And Jesus,
moved with compassion,
put forth his hand,
and touched him,
and saith unto him,
I will;
be thou clean.
42 And as soon as he had spoken,
immediately the leprosy departed from him,
and he was cleansed.
43 And he straitly charged him,
and forthwith sent him away;
44 And saith unto him,
See thou say nothing to any man:
but go thy way,
shew thyself to the priest,
and offer for thy cleansing those things
which Moses commanded,
for a testimony unto them.
45 But he went out,
and began to publish it much,
and to blaze abroad the matter,
insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter
into the city,
but was without in desert places:
and they came to him from every quarter.
People came to hear the Lord.
And they wanted to be healed.
How glorious those days must have been!
Luke 5:15
King James Version
15 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him:
and great multitudes came together to hear,
and to be healed by him of their infirmities.
Remember the woman, who touched His garment?
Such was her faith.
Matthew 9:20-22
King James Version
20 And, behold,
a woman,
which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years,
came behind him,
and touched the hem of his garment:
21 For she said within herself,
If I may but touch his garment,
I shall be whole.
22 But Jesus turned him about,
and when he saw her,
he said,
Daughter,
be of good comfort;
thy faith hath made thee whole.
And the woman was made whole
from that hour.
The next post will be on people who did not believe.
